NEW WAY TO SELL MANUSCRIPTS

Writers take heart. You don't need an agent anymore.

A new and painless way to submit your manuscripts to publishers has just emerged. The Electronic LiteraryAgent, a new service now available at www.eLitAgent.com, has created a way to let hundreds of publishers "find" your manuscript. Better yet, it keeps you in charge of the publishing deal.

Here's how it works:

Your manuscript is critiqued. If found publishable (they're quality conscious) web pages are created for your work. On these pages is an open letter to publishers, telling what you envision for your work and what kind of a relationship you want with a publisher. A second page lists salient excerpts from your work. A third page consists of a letter, introducing your work to editors. This page is sent out to 100+ publishers, inviting them to view your excerpts and contact you if interested.

Does it work?

Frederick Zappone, the first author to use the eLit Agent method, says yes.:

"What I like about this approach is that it puts the author in control in regards to the destiny of his/her book, rather than the publishing house."

Within two months with eLit, Mr. Zappone had a publishing contract.

eLitAgent books will be listed on the agency website as well as on the individual author's pages. "Our vision," says Patrika Vaughn, co-founder, "is to become the world-class shopping mall for manuscripts, where publishers come to us instead of waiting for agents to bring manuscripts to them."
